The Mills volleyball team hosted their second home match against visiting Pacific Union College. The Pioneers got off to a quick start in game one, but the Cyclones responded in game two. After taking the lead, they held on until a late surge put the Pioneers on top, 25-23. Pacific Union then used their momentum to take game three 25-8.
The Cyclones were paced by sophomore captain, Miranda Crothers, who led the team with five points. Crothers comes off a successful weekend at the Slugfest Tournament where she was named to the All-Tournament team. Sophomore Vivian Kang had a game high 15 digs, followed by classmate Emma Rigby, who finished with 10. Sophomore, Amber Escobar Meza led in kills with three.
Mills is back in action tomorrow as they travel to nearby Laney College for a four-team tournament. They play again at home next Saturday at 2 pm when they welcome Life Pacific College.
