The Cyclones headed to Cal State East Bay for their first meet of the 2019-2020 season.
With a large group of newcomers, head coach Neil Virtue was grateful that the team had a great first meet. He commented, "this meet was a great starting point for the season. CSU East Bay is always welcoming of us and they bring high competition."
Several Cyclones had swam multiple events for the first time while a few returners achieved lifetime bests. Senior Maggie Krystad swam a lifetime best in the 1000 free along with sophomore Rachel Schottstaedt swimming a lifetime best in the 100 back. Sophomore Lici Zimmerman and (class) Maria Ramos both had strong showings for their Cyclone premiers.
"The team's support of one another and effort given is always high," Virtue said about the team's performance.
The Cyclones will compete next at the UC Santa Cruz Slug Shoot Out on October 25th in Santa Cruz, California.
