Quinn is very excited to start her first year as assistant coach for the Mills Cyclones. An Oakland native, she is thrilled to be bringing her love of swimming back home. Her mom was a swim coaching fixture in the city of Oakland for decades so Quinn grew up swimming for local club teams and Bishop O’Dowd High School.
After continuing her swimming career at Oregon State University she eventually transferred to Portland State and began coaching locally, part time. Upon moving back to Corvallis, Oregon she started coaching high school swimming, her team reaching 2nd in the state for both the boys and the girls squads. Joining the staff of the Corvallis Aquatic Team as a year round coach was the next step in her career. Travelling with the team and instructing different age groups was definitely the highlight of this move to more competitive coaching.
In 2001 Quinn moved back to California and started a family. She lives in Moraga and has 2 sons in high school. She works for the Moraga School District in the Special Education Department and has been coaching for Orinda Park Pool, as well as College Prep High School during their respective seasons. If there is ever any free time you can usually find her eating peanut butter, running on Bay Area trails, or taking a long nap with her dog.
