Head Rowing Coach Inducted to University of Washington Husky Hall of Fame

Congratulations to our very own Sara Nevin for her induction to the University of Washington Husky Hall of Fame!

Nevin was inducted with the rest of her crew members from the 1984 and 1985 varsity eight boats. In both those years, Nevin's crew won the Pac-10 Conference championship and the National Championship. The varsity eight from 1984 went undefeated in their season before bringing home the two championships. At this point in time, the UW women had won three straight national titles before adding these two other victorious years. Nevin graduated from UW in 1985 with three varsity eight national titles, a BA in political science with a minor in pre-medicine, and was undefeated in U.S. collegiate competition.

The University of Washington made a video honoring these two rowing teams and their ceiling-breaking seasons, watch it here.

She was a member of the U.S. national team in 1985 and 1986. Nevin is one of three other UW crew members that went on to coach rowing. She has been the head rowing coach at Mills since 2011.

Congratulations Coach Nevin!
